Welcome to North East Pet Photographer … I am Sarah Johnson.
My name is Sarah Johnson, and I’m not just a photographer – I’m a passionate animal lover with a keen eye for capturing the unique personalities of our furry friends. Based in the North East of England, I’ve spent years honing my craft much to my own dogs frustration at times and building a reputation as one of the region’s premier pet photographers.
Each pet has its own personality and as a dog owner myself I know how important it is to capture them to a tea. My golden girls are my world and having precious photographs to treasure for a lifetime is so important to me.
Sarah Johnson Photography, was born thanks for my own dogs and it’s why I have set up a new website and social platforms for all my pet photography work. My photography over the last 4 years has included both my personal branding specialism but I have always still been working as a pet photographer.
It has been a struggle to market the two under one business as both have a very different following so I have decided to separate them as two businesses!
I’ve always enjoyed photography and taking photographs but when we got our dogs this really did go up a notch! Sadly we have just last week lost our first dog and the pain is just horrific- nothing prepares you for this. I am however going to take comfort in due course in the 1000s of photographs that I have of her life with us though and I am so grateful for each and every one of these.

As an owner of two golden retriever’s (we sadly lost or Heidi in March 2024) myself I understand how each dog is unique.
I try to regularly take updated pictures of my girls as often as I can in line with the seasons as sadly I want to make sure I have as many captured memories as I can possibly have.
We love taking them on special walks and days out across the country and it has been said many times that our dogs have a life most humans would do anything for.
These precious girls are my world and I understand how important these special creatures are- so lets work together to capture them with images for you to treasure and enjoy for a lifetime ahead.
